| These are to certify that the freehold company known as the Chesapeake Loyalist Navigatorf of the Chefapeake in the Colony of Maryland, or The Picaroonf, captain, man and fupply fuch fhip as procured, as a Britifh fhip navigated by twenty and four men including officerf, mounting two Carriage Gunf and four fwivel gunf, having Applied to me for an Authority to cruife againft all Hif Majefty's Enemief having received his Majesty'f Commands to encourage all His Majesty'f Subjects by every meanf in their power to distreff and annoy the Trade of all His Majestyf Enemief. And the faid company having been duly Registefed in His Majefty'f Cuftom Houfe in this province as a Britifh fhip being regularly defcribed in fuch Regifter to which there prefent refer. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I do by virtue of the Power & Authority to me given conformable to Hif Majesty'f pleafure expreffed to me by the Right Honourable and Moft Noble Hif Grace the Duke of Portland & by the Right Honourable Henry Dundaf, Authorize and Empower the faid Chefapeake Loyalift Navigatorf to cruife againft all Hif Majefty'f Enemief, and am fully authorized to affure them all all otherf involved in faid private fhip of War, That Hif Majefty will confider him & them af fully Entitled to an having a juft claim to all veffelf & property of every kind which he or they fhall make prize of from all or any of His Majesty'f Enemief, provided the fame fhall have been firft condemned af Lawful prize to Hif Majefty In Hif Majesty'f High Court of Admiralty or in fome of Hif Majefty'f Courtf of Vice Admiralty, or other reprefentative of Hif Majefty having lawful authority to take Cognizance of the fame. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
