Rumskulls Go To  Church

November 3, 4, 5, 2000

As part of their year long celebration, Saint James Episcopal Church held an"All Periods" historic encampment, We portrayed people of the 1750s, from various backgrounds, travelling to the frontier to settle during the year of the church's founding.

For a first effort, the Church did a great job, and we are looking forward to seeing this become an annual event. Attached is part of the article in the local paper, including their interview with our "experts."

We spent both days talking to the public, and attended services sunday. Entertainment Saturday night for us was one of the confederate artillery crews, who enjoyed sitting around with us, drinking and singing at their campfire.

Mr Hildebrand adds to the wood pile (for some reason, this fascinates the public?)

For an "All Periods" event, the organizer was particularly partial to Confederate Civil War Units (we were the only non civil war unit there?)
